1915 Chalmers Tourer FOR SALE
1915 Chalmers Model 32B 7-Seater Asking $37,000
Owned and saved from destruction by the famous Barney Pollard.
Barney Pollard Sr. worked for Chalmers, and restored the car in the 1940s. Barney
collected many cars and stacked them on end in a warehouse, saving them from being crushed for badly needed steel during WWII. This car is one of Barney’s favorite cars and one of those stacked survivors!
Hugh Chalmers bought "Thomas" of Buffalo, NY, in 1908. "Chalmers" was built 1908-1923. 250,000 were built, but less than 300 remain. In the late teens and early 20's, Maxwell shared the plant with Chalmers. Walter Chrysler took over the company, and in 1924, Chalmers became Chrysler.
6 cylinder overhead valve, overhead cam. 40 hp, 3 1/8 bore, 5” stroke. Transmission is a 3-speed transaxle with a 5 1/4 to 1 final drive. Built in Detroit, cost $1350, 124" wheelbase, weighing 3,160lbs.
The car came with an electric starter and was restored in the ‘60s and the interior restored more recently and is in great shape! New tires, step plates, a full set of side curtains, and the top has a boot to cover when the top is down.
This is a GREAT TOURING CAR, with upgrades like auto shut off pull valve, & an alternator for more power. And modern headlights for brighter, safer driving at night. Completed over 1,000 miles touring this past year!
